Implementing Tips to Keep You on Track to the Bestsellers

With the wealth of information available on every imaginable topic, “not knowing what to do” to become a successful author can no longer be your excuse.  The internet and events like the Author Summer School is within your easy reach.

However, despite having an endless well of resources, most authors remain unsuccessful.  One of the biggest challenges authors face is implementation.

If you’re like most authors, implementing the things you learn is a big problem.  You feel that there’s just so much to do and life gets in the way. Its not like you’re in a supportive environment so there’s no one to hold you accountable and help keep you motivated.

Plus you have no idea what to do first, what to do second, third, fourth and so on.  You have great information circling in your head and in your notes but you don’t have a step-by-step system to follow.

Of course you feel grateful for the amazing information that’s available to you, but you can’t help but feel overwhelmed. Obviously without consistent implementation it seems like there’s nothing significant that you’re getting done and you may feel stuck. Sometimes you just can’t help but feel frustrated because you bust your butt working on something only to find out that you should have done another thing first. What’s worse is the pile of money you’re leaving on the table each day you’re not getting things done.

Its time to speed up to your bestseller success.  Here are 3 tips to help you get started with implementing right now.

1. Step into a strong take action mindset. The moment you turn to the direction of playing big and moving forward with your goals, there’s an unconscious chatter in your mind that stops you.  “It has to be perfect. You don’t really know what you’re doing you’ll just fail. There’s something else much more fun to do,” and the list goes on. That’s your subconscious doing its job of keeping you where you are. Its really good at distracting you and convincing you against getting things done.

Practice your mental muscle to keep focused on the results that you want and keep on taking action until you achieve them. Every time you take action and get positive results, you’re creating a new experience for your subconscious. When that happens you stretch out from your comfort zone and what you thought as difficult before no longer feels as challenging anymore.

2. Have a plan. When you have new information, create a plan on how you will implement. You can figure out the most optimal sequence on your own by trial and error or you can follow a system that others have used and gotten results from.

When you have your plan laid out, put it on your calendar. Treat your calendar as sacred and make a commitment that you will do what you put on there at the specific date and time. Like any other appointments, if an emergency comes up, you’re welcome to move it. But you’ve got to treat these implementation appointments with yourself very seriously.

3. Surround yourself with a supportive environment. If your internal subconscious mind makes it difficult to step into your goals, an unsupportive external environment makes things worse.

When you are surrounded with a community of like-minded people who understands you because they’re either on the same path or they’ve walked your path, it’s easier to stay motivated and make big accomplishments.

Unplug the TV and stop watching anything negative from this point on. Don’t tell your plans to people you know that don’t understand and will only pull you down.

Stay connected with positive goal oriented people. Invest in live and virtual events where you and others like you are kept on track to becoming a bestseller. Hire a coach, join masterminds, and engage in forums and in social media. There’s so many options you can do to keep yourself in a supportive environment, you just have to keep it top of mind and make an effort to do it.

I especially like the “strong take action mindset”.  If we wait for things to be perfect, nothing would ever get done.  It fits well with my morning mantra to “be of service to family, friends and community.”

Hey Trissa!  This was just what I needed to hear right about now. :)   Honestly, I already know to take all those steps mentioned above…but taking them is another story! Having someone I trust and respect (that would be YOU) to spell them out for me and prompt me to follow them, well, that’s priceless.  Thank you!

In my opinion you are never too old to learn new tricks -at the age of 76 I have learned to put my books onto kindle so my paperbacks are now available as e books.
Daddy’s Little Spy -Isabella’s struggle to survive a mother who becomes a wiccan (witch) during world war two -is selling well.
To catch a daring thief is a romantic mystery. Also an e book. check them out and if you like them tell your friends
